Ashley Gunter
School Psychologist
Ashley is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, with competency in school psychology with children and adolescents. More specifically, she has specialized training and experience in the areas of psycho-educational, social-emotional, behavioural, and diagnostic assessments. Ashley also has experience working with children and adolescents struggling with a variety of presenting concerns, including learning, behaviour, social-emotional, and mental health.
Ashley obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science with Specialization in Psychology and Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences from the University of Ottawa, Ontario. She then pursued her studies at the University of Calgary, Alberta, and earned a Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology.
Over the past years, Ashley has developed an exemplary skill set in conducting comprehensive psycho-educational assessments. She specializes in psycho-educational assessments of children and adolescents with learning difficulties, cognitive delays, as well as social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Ashley believes in writing strength-based assessment reports that include practical recommendations for effective programming at school and home.
Ashley especially enjoys working with children and adolescents as well as their families and educators to better understand their strengths and weaknesses to help them achieve their full potential. Ashley has experience working in a variety of settings and roles with both children and adolescents, including multiple school boards in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario, a private practice, and an intensive campus-based treatment program.
