About Edcommodate
Edcommodate was founded to provide psychoeducational assessments and appropriate recommendations for accommodation/modification strategies for children, youth and adults. Our team of clinicians, which is lead by hospital experienced clinicians, have performed thousands of assessments. They bring care, expertise and the ability to diagnose or rule out learning disabilities and/or behavioural disorders such as ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), Dyslexia, ASD (Autism) as well as identify giftedness.
We understand that early intervention for children with learning disabilities and behavioural challenges is vital to long-term progress. Edcommodate is very experienced in working with young children aged 3- 6 years old. We are one of very few resources available in Canada to perform developmental assessments, with minimal wait times. Gold standard measures such as the ADOS and ADIR are used whenever there is a suspicion of autism.
For youth between the ages of 7 and 17, it is imperative to diagnose learning and behavioural disabilities such as ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) so the appropriate recommendations for accommodations and/or modifications can be established for School and homelife.
Edcommodate clinicians have extensive experience assessing College and University students Our team of clinicians is trusted by college and university accessibility advisors who refer students to Edcommodate for evaluation and diagnosis regularly. The Edcommodate team has the ability to rule out or diagnose learning disabilities and behavioural disorders such as adult ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), dyslexia, delays in thinking, and Autism (ASD). The clinicians will make tailored recommendations for accommodations and/or modifications to assist post-secondary students to succeed in college or university. We have also assisted with recommendations for accommodations and/or modifications for admissions testing such as the LSAT or MCAT.
Diagnosis of Adult Learning Disabilities and Workplace Accommodation Assessments are also possible at Edcommodate. Our team has the ability to rule out or diagnose learning disabilities and behavioural disorders such as adult ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) delays in thinking and Adult Autism (ASD) for those in workplace settings or for individuals that are not currently employed.
Our qualified clinicians can make recommendations for accommodations and/or modifications for individuals taking licensing exams. Edcommodate has also assisted human resources departments as well as unions in workplace settings to properly assess the intellectual, academic and cognitive abilities of employees to rule out learning disabilities or ADHD. The importance of this is underscored by the dramatic impact such conditions can have on job performance and satisfaction.
